Knox Léon Jolie-Pitt Fights Hours After Diploma Drops ‘Pitt’

HELLO! magazine has described Knox Jolie-Pitt as the most private of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s six children. On June 5, 2026, at his own high school graduation, he picked up a microphone and told a room full of strangers exactly where to find him a few hours later: in a ring, fighting Muay Thai, at 12:45 in the morning.

The moment made him more visible than he had been in years, arriving about five weeks before he turned 18 on July 12, the age at which he became legally free to stop appearing in public altogether. Instead, for one night, he did the opposite.

Fast facts

  • Born July 12, 2008, in Nice, France, minutes before his twin sister, Vivienne Marcheline
  • Youngest of six children of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt
  • Named after Brad Pitt’s maternal grandfather, Hal Knox Hillhouse
  • Competitive Muay Thai fighter since July 2025
  • Graduated from Fusion Academy in Los Angeles on June 5, 2026
  • Turned 18 on July 12, 2026

The quiet years

Public appearances from Knox have been rare. His mother brought him along to a handful of events over the years, including the 2021 UK premiere of Eternals and the 2024 Governors Awards, and neither produced much beyond a few photographs.

Even his biggest recent personal decision arrived with no announcement at all. When he collected his diploma from Fusion Academy, it read “Knox Jolie” rather than “Knox Jolie-Pitt.” Page Six reported the detail only after obtaining a photo of the document. Nobody in the family commented on it publicly.

The fight he announced from the stage

That is what made the graduation speech different. Knox told the crowd, in front of a room full of his classmates’ parents:

“Tonight, I’m gonna be fighting at Total Sonic Knockout 5 at 12:45 a.m., so catch me. I’m gonna knock ’em the f— out.”

The clip circulated within hours. He followed through. At Total Sonic Knockout 5, a Muay Thai and nightlife event in downtown Los Angeles, he won an exhibition bout under IKF Point Muay Thai Technical rules, a semi-contact, points-based format used to develop amateur fighters rather than a professional fight card. TMZ posted footage of the match. His mother and twin sister, Vivienne, watched from the crowd. His father did not attend; he was reportedly in France with his girlfriend, Ines de Ramon, that same weekend.

A year of Muay Thai before that night

The fight was not his first. In July 2025, the day after he turned 17, he won his division in the same IKF Point Muay Thai Technical format at a competition in Los Angeles, posing for photos with a medal while his mother and sister watched. That win drew modest coverage at the time. It became a much bigger story once he announced the next one himself, from a graduation stage, in front of a room full of witnesses.

According to the Bangkok-based outlet Khaosod English, Knox also traveled to Thailand later in 2025, watching fights at the historic Rajadamnern Stadium and training at a camp there. He has since been photographed in gear from Thai brands including Tuff, along with shorts referencing Rajadamnern in Thai script.

Where each Jolie-Pitt sibling stands on the name

Knox’s approach to dropping Pitt fits the same shape as everything else about him. Three of his siblings have gone through California’s courts to do it legally, a process that requires filing a petition and then publishing a public notice for four consecutive weeks, a matter of public record anyone can look up. Knox skipped that path. His diploma was the only signal, and even that became public only because a reporter went looking for it.

Jolie and Pitt married in 2014 and separated two years later. Their divorce took nearly eight years to work through the courts and was finalized in December 2024. Pitt did not attend his son’s graduation or his fight, which is consistent with years of reporting describing him as largely absent from his children’s adult lives since the split.

Why the timing lines up, and where it doesn’t

California law generally requires a person to be 18 before they can petition for a legal name change without a parent’s involvement. That explains Shiloh’s timing precisely: she filed shortly after turning 18 in 2024. It also explains why Knox and Vivienne could not have filed any earlier than this summer, whether or not they choose to.

It does not fully explain Maddox and Zahara, who have been legal adults for years and only filed in 2026. Their specific reasons for waiting have not been made public.

Jolie has also said a custody arrangement tied to the divorce kept her based in Los Angeles until her youngest children turned 18. “I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they’re 18, I’ll be able to leave,” she told The Hollywood Reporter in 2024. She has talked about spending more time in Cambodia, where she adopted her oldest son, Maddox, and her Los Angeles home has reportedly been listed for close to $30 million this year.

Even his earliest public moment was a shared one

This has been the shape of his public life since childhood. His first credit came in 2016, when he was seven, and it was a shared one: he and three of his siblings, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh, recorded voice cameos for Kung Fu Panda 3. Knox voiced a young panda named Ku Ku, written into the film as the triplet of two other characters, one of them voiced by Shiloh. Jolie told Entertainment Tonight at the time that the children “were kind of shy” about it and “don’t really want to be actors,” but she did not want them to miss the experience.

He also took flying lessons for a period starting around age nine, something Jolie mentioned to People in 2018, inspired by watching her fly since she earned her pilot’s license in 2004. There is no indication he kept it up. His older brother Maddox is the one who became the family’s actual pilot, a fact Jolie confirmed during an appearance on The Tonight Show in December 2024.

Where things stand now

Knox has not filed anything in court, and neither has Vivienne, though three of their siblings now have. If he eventually does, his diploma suggests it might happen quietly, discovered later rather than announced.

Everything else about his public life has been quiet: a handful of red carpets, a diploma nobody announced, a Muay Thai win that barely made news before this one did. The graduation stage, and the fight that followed it, was the one night he chose to be loud instead.
