The last time Anna Faris played Cindy Campbell, her husband was Ben Indra. Scary Movie 4 opened in April 2006, and photographers shot the two of them together at the New York afterparty. They separated eleven months later.
Faris is back in the part. Scary Movie 6 opened on June 12, 2026 and took $54 million in its first weekend, Variety reported, putting her on top of the box office twenty years after her last appearance in the franchise. She is 49.
Indra, her first husband, has one screen credit after 2002. It is a single episode of a sitcom in 2005. He has never said anything publicly about the marriage, the divorce, or the memoir Faris later wrote about both.

They met on a cheap slasher shoot in Seattle
Lovers Lane was made for around $500,000 and went straight to video in 1999, according to Bloody Disgusting’s review of the film’s 2023 restoration. Faris was studying English at the University of Washington and taking acting jobs for extra money, expecting to end up writing for a living instead. Indra played a character called Bradley.
He gave one interview about her, to a magazine in 2001. It is the only occasion on which he is known to have spoken publicly about anything at all. He said he had not wanted to miss the chance to get to know her.

Eight of the nine fall between 1999 and 2002. The one that mattered was Raising Dad, a sitcom that ran on The WB from October 5, 2001 to May 10, 2002. Bob Saget starred in it, his first sitcom since Full House ended. Kat Dennings played one of his daughters and Brie Larson, then 12, played the other. Indra was credited in 20 of the 22 episodes, and he was 22 years old.
The economics of the job are not generous. SAG-AFTRA’s chief economist told Rolling Stone in 2023 that 14 percent of the union’s members earn enough in a year to qualify for its health plan, which at that point required $26,470 in covered earnings, and that 7 percent earn $80,000 or more. Those figures come from two decades after Indra was working, and the union does not publish equivalents for the early 2000s. A season of network television is still the kind of job that clears that bar comfortably.
The WB canceled the show after one season on weak ratings. All 22 episodes aired.
The proposal, twice
Faris told this part in her 2017 memoir Unqualified.
They were driving to lunch when he pulled over at an antique jewelry store, walked her in, asked which ring she liked, then bought it and proposed on the spot. They were on their way to eat burritos. Her answer, as she remembered it:
“No, no, no, no, no. This is not how this is happening.”
He tried again a couple of months later at the Mondrian Hotel, on one knee, having asked her father’s permission first. She said yes that time, then did not want to tell her parents. She has written that she still cannot explain to herself why she went through with it.
They married on June 3, 2004. His last regular job had ended two years earlier.
Faris has explained the divorce three different ways
Her account has changed across ten years.
- In 2011, to Marie Claire. She said her own success had wrecked the marriage, and that the divide between them “became too great.”
- In 2017, in Unqualified. Here the cause is Chris Pratt. She met him in 2007 on the set of Take Me Home Tonight, spent the early part of the shoot helping him get dates with other women on the production, and worked out along the way that she wanted him herself. She ended the marriage over the phone, and wrote that she did not come out of it innocent.
- Later, on her own podcast, in conversation with Gwyneth Paltrow. She pointed to competitiveness in both of her marriages to actors, and said she had been more open with Indra than she later was with Pratt.
Indra has answered none of the three.

That figure is the only documented money anywhere in the story, which is worth knowing because a number of sites publish confident net worth estimates for him. They start at about a million dollars and climb from there, they do not agree with each other, and none of them cite a source. Nothing about his finances has been on the public record since 2005.
